Did you see the High Point Enterprise article, “Going Down,” on January 15? The great news is that crime rates in High Point continued the downward slide again in 2010. Unofficial statistics from the High Point Police Department show a decline in both violent crimes and property crimes.
The Department gives credit to a winning combination – the on-going work of the Violent Crimes Task Force, additional special policing efforts, such as Focused Deterrence, intervention strategies targeting youth offenders and the work of groups including High Point Community Against Violence.
Once again, proof that the work we have been doing in High Point is having the results we want, making High Point a safer place for everyone! Thanks to Pat Kimbrough for putting it in print.
